Pinot Gris Direct Press Sur Lie

Pinot Grigio was the first wine I ever bought as a young man. I had it outside in late spring with strawberries and olive bread. It was maybe $7, filtered, sulfured and the most perfect thing for that most perfect day. This wine, Pinot Gris, Direct Press Sur Lie, while wholly different from its inspiration, still strives to hit these same emotional places, but with some modern references thrown in for good measure. The wine is reminiscent of what Pinot Gris might taste like if grown in Jura, or a more high acid version of Coteaux de l'Ardèche. Unique, but immediately knowable. A wine for now, remembering the past and celebrating the future.
