Once in a blue moon Andy bottles a single barrel of Pinot Noir (or one time in 2018, a Pinot Gris) and releases it under the name "Bachelor". He hasn't done it since the 2018 vintage and he's never done it all in magnum (double sized bottles). This wine is from one of his favorite sites, which is farmed organically and fermented in concrete tank. The wine was then moved to 100% new French oak, where it rested undisturbed for 22 months. Enjoy it now while it's at its most visceral, or store it in a cool, dry place for the next 10 to 15 years and be rewarded with a flavor only time can bring*. Expect flavors of strawberry, cherry, raspberry, leather, fresh ground coffee, sandalwood and sage. Serve with short ribs, sweet potatoes, a hearty pasta ragu, or even chocolate meringue pie.

*Ultimately a magnum helps the wine age in a more controlled way, as there is more wine to surface area. You can expect the oak presence in this wine to become more and more integrated as the years pass, helping to prop up the fruit like a sturdy stage.

Grapes: Pinot Noir

Vinification: Two weeks of semi-carbonic maceration in concrete. Pressed directly into French Oak (100% new). Full lees aging for 22 months, racked to stainless steel two weeks before bottling with a small SO2 addition at racking.
