Story:

Thoughtful, gastronomic skin contact wine, as opposed to lighter soif-styles, is harder and harder to come by these days it feels like, but oddly, that was the total intent just a few years ago. Wines that have the depth and resonance of red wine but with a different portal for the palate. That’s why I make Disco Nap. An homage to the wines of Northern Italy that I love dearly, as well as something that feels quintessentially Oregon, just as the rains start to come in during late fall and winter. 

Feels:

Dried peaches, black walnuts, watching a waterfall in November with the trees all glowing yellow and red around it 

Pairs:

Turkey and cranberry dressing, grilled oysters with chorizo, Hiking in the Gorge 

Techniques:

18 day maceration of whole cluster Pinot Gris floated in direct press Chardonnay fermented in concrete. Daily pumpovers during this time till the tank was drained and pressed into a combination of newer and neutral French oak barrels. 11 months in barrel, one year in bottle before release.

50° to 60° Fahrenheit 

Viticulture:

Farmed with one site Certified Organic by Oregon Tilth (Pinot Gris) and one site farmed organic without certification (Chardonnay)
